Be a Super
I am seeking representation for my speculative fiction novel. Be A Super is an 82,000-word stand-alone about a former SuperVillain coming to terms with her powers and questioning her role as a Super.
In a universe where Supering is a hobby, Grim (formally known as Grim the Reaper) has left her SuperVillain career, now bussing tables, content in her anonymity. Until one day, she’s suddenly drawn back into the world of Supers when a SuperHero league invites her to join them, unaware of her past. At the same time, Grim meets the defiant and quick-witted Mil Weaver who pulls Grim into her orbit, changing her views of their society. Grim attempts to transform into a SuperHero and entrust in her new budding romance, all while haunted by her past and doubtful whether her power, herself, can ever be used for good.
Like The Supervillain and Me by Danielle Banas and Pinnacle City by Carter Matt, Fiona J. R. Titchenell, Be A Super is a story about understanding pain and questioning the repressive nature of society.
Martyrs of Infernum
Main Karicher never understood the dangers of his dark side, right until its paws had him pinned to the ground.
After carelessly murdering Mrs. Roosevelt—thankfully not the famous one—with a pizza cutter, Main is sentenced to life in prison. However, only weeks in, a secretive government agency, the Venators, offer him a deal. By the next day, the 22-year-old is shuffled through Pontem: the portal that bridges Earth with Infernum, a land where the monsters in our heads roam freely.
Now demanded to fight for his life, he must enforce the human-constructed barrier between these two worlds. In doing so, he has no choice but to confront both his internal and external demons.
Unintentionally reconnecting pathways and abilities with his monstrous half, he is brought under his commanding officer’s supervision as she attempts to keep him from discovering the blunt truths of Infernum. Infernum melts just as he learns the nature of humanity: Humans are split in two, blindly determined to erase their unwanted half.
